The Production and Technological Exchange of Ancient Porcelains in East and Southeast Asia
This panel will focus on the discussions of the production and technological exchange of ancient porcelain industries, based on new findings of archaeological excavations, shipwrecks, collections, and documentations etc. during the past decades, in the East and Southeast Asia areas. In addition to the products and trades, the panel attempts to draw more attention on the comparisons and interlinks of production technology in terms of kiln types, firing equipment, tools, processing techniques and so on and thus explore the exchange of technology and culture of these areas.
It is under plan that the panel will invite about 15-20 scholars, with half of them from China and the rest from all over the world. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Yanjun Weng, under the advisory of Prof. Dashu Qin at Peking University and with the support of Jingdezhen Oriental Ceramic Society.
